Via Ferrata "FORTICA"

Via Ferrata Fortica is an exciting adventure route located on Fortica Hill above Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Established in 2020 as part of a project to develop adventure tourism on Fortica Hill, Via Ferrata Fortica offers a thrilling climbing experience that combines hiking with fixed steel cables, ladders, and other climbing aids, allowing people of various skill levels to enjoy the ascent. To reach the ferrata, drive along the M17 main road. When you arrive at the "Sunset Mostar" apartments, turn left onto the local road leading to Podveležje. Continue driving for about 3 kilometers. Follow the signs and markings, and descend below the rock ridge until you reach the entrance to the ferrata. The length of Via Ferrata Fortica is approximately 200 meters, with a crossing time of around 30 minutes. The route guides climbers through breathtaking landscapes, offering panoramic views of Mostar, including the famous Old Bridge and the Neretva River. At the top of Fortica Hill, visitors can also enjoy an adrenaline-pumping zip line, adding to the adventure. Via Ferrata is part of a larger outdoor complex that includes hiking and mountain biking trails, making it a popular destination for nature and adventure lovers. The Fortica Hill area also features a war memorial and the remains of ancient fortifications, providing a historical dimension to this experience.
