A unique highlight of this route is passing through a natural opening in the rock, which adds to the overall experience. Accessing Via Ferrata Mala Orlica involves a leisurely 30-minute walk to the start of the trail, which can be reached from Trnovo towards the village of Dujmovići. After 9.5 kilometers, you will find a turnoff on the left side of the road leading to a forest path marked with an information sign. Parking is available along the road. The first few hundred meters follow a trail to the edge of the forest, where the hiking path begins. The marked trail leads through the woods. Please note that there may be remnants of landmines in the area, so it is essential to stick to the designated path. After about 15 minutes, you will arrive at a clearing with a hunting lookout. From there, continue straight to a resting area with a bench and a source of water. A signpost above the bench points towards the via ferrata, which is located just a 5-minute walk down the marked trail. At the entrance to the via ferrata, there is a board with instructions. The length of the via ferrata is 120 meters, with an elevation difference of 70 meters, making it accessible for most hikers. The technical difficulty of the route is rated as B, indicating that it is not overly challenging, and the average time to complete it is around 20 minutes. After finishing the via ferrata, climbers return along the same path, allowing them to once again enjoy the stunning views and the natural beauty surrounding the trail.
