Via Ferrata "Osobac" - Prenj

Via Ferrata Osobac is an adventurous climbing route located in the mountainous region of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It offers an exciting experience for nature lovers and climbers, providing a safe and thrilling way to explore rugged rocks and stunning natural landscapes. Situated near Konjic, within the Prenj mountain massif, it is one of the most beautiful and challenging areas in the country. To reach the ferrata from Konjic, follow the signs towards Boračko Lake until you reach the village of Borci. The sign for Crno Polje is on the right side of the paved road, where you will need to turn onto a gravel road suitable for off-road vehicles. This gravel road stretches for 10 kilometers to Crno Polje. The gravel path ends in the Crno Polje area, where there is a widened spot that can accommodate several cars. During this ascent, at the second intersection of the gravel roads, you will need to turn right and continue along that path until you reach Crno Polje. This ferrata is renowned for its breathtaking views and offers routes suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers. Climbers on Via Ferrata Osobac can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks, making this location a popular destination for adventure tourism in the region. It's important to have the appropriate equipment and experience or to go with a trained guide to ensure safety while navigating the route. The access to Via Ferrata Osobac takes about 2.5 hours, and the ferrata itself is 1,200 meters long. The elevation gain is 480 meters, and the technical difficulty of the route falls into the B/C category. The average time required to complete the ferrata is approximately 3 hours. After reaching the summit of Osobac, the descent is made via the "via normale" trail, which leads back to the base. Currently, Via Ferrata Osobac is closed.
