Vučji Zub Via Ferrata is one of the most exciting in the region. This ferrata is perfect for physically and mentally prepared adults seeking a challenge and wanting to try hiking in a new way. To reach the ferrata, take the main road from Sarajevo to Trebinje, driving towards the center of Trebinje. After that, continue your journey towards Herceg Novi, following the signs for Mount Orjen and the Ubla mountain hut, which is located about 20 kilometers from Trebinje. Upon reaching the Ubla mountain hut, follow the road to the picnic area, where the asphalt road ends. From there, join the dirt road marked with hiking signs, which offers shortcuts to Pirina Poljana, approximately 6.5 kilometers away. After passing Pirina Poljana, the trail narrows and transitions into a hiking path that leads to the location of Dobri Do, at an elevation of 1,380 meters, roughly 8 kilometers from the starting point. At Dobri Do, the trail turns left towards Vučji Zub. This trail is clearly marked and easy to follow, taking about an hour of walking to reach the flat area below the rock where the via ferrata begins. Upon arriving at the plateau, the path leads towards an opening that you pass through, then onto a scree slope that brings you to the entrance of the ferrata, which takes an additional 20 minutes of walking. The ferrata is 220 meters long, with an elevation difference of 120 meters, and is technically rated as B/C. The average time to complete it is around 60 minutes. After finishing the ascent, follow the trail to the right over rocks and boulders towards the summit of Vučji Zub. Vučji Zub Via Ferrata offers not only a challenge for climbers but also spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. With the right equipment and adequate preparation, this ascent provides an unforgettable experience in the heart of nature, ideal for those who wish to experience the natural beauty of Herzegovina in an adventurous way.
