How to move around BiH by bus

Catching buses is a popular way to travel around Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a rule, the farther you are from the city center, the buses run less often, while in the centers of larger cities, buses usually run every 15 minutes.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has a large bus network of intercity and international buses. The bus is the most used form of public transport.

The main bus hubs in BiH are Banja Luka, Zenica, Mostar, and of course Sarajevo. Sarajevo has two main bus stops, one with buses which run to the eastern part of the country and one with buses which run to the western part.

Always check the routes, driving schedule, and ticket prices at your local tourist office or bus stop before boarding the bus to avoid travel problems.
