Marble Necropolis

The Mramor Necropolis was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016. It contains 80 tombstones, including 47 pedestal tombstones, 4 chest tombs on pedestals, 4 chest tombs, 17 pedestal slabs, and 8 slabs. The most common form in this archaeological site is the pedestal tombstone, with all tombstones carved from a single piece of stone. Out of the total, 14 tombstones are decorated, primarily featuring geometric patterns. Figurative representations are absent. The dominant decorative motifs include spirals and rosettes, while crosses and twisted ribbons occasionally appear.
