This via ferrata begins on the northern side of the rock, which often remains damp due to rainfall and snow that lingers until late spring, creating a challenge for climbers. During the ascent, you will encounter several technically demanding sections that require complete concentration and physical readiness. At certain points, this via ferrata intersects with the old Josif Fleger route, which offers an easier path, and both routes meet at the summit. However, unlike the old route, the new via ferrata crosses a suspended bridge, leads to a secondary peak of the rock, and concludes there. You can reach the via ferrata from the center of Sarajevo, heading through Vraca towards Trebević. Near the Pino Nature Hotel, you need to turn right onto a dirt road that leads to the Trebević Stari Grad mountain lodge, where parking is available. This via ferrata is designed for individuals with a solid fitness level and technical climbing skills. The total length of the via ferrata is 180 meters, with an elevation gain of 90 meters. The technical difficulty is rated as B/C, indicating that moderate to challenging technical skill is required. The average completion time is about 45 minutes, and the return is via a marked trail that leads back to the mountain lodge through the Tri Budalaša springs. What makes this via ferrata particularly special is the combination of adrenaline-inducing challenges, such as the suspended bridge, and the untouched natural surroundings, providing an ideal way to enjoy adventure and hiking near Sarajevo.
