There is no written information about the construction of the mosque. It is assumed that it was built in 1512 thanks to the Bešovićs, Busuladžićs and Kurtagićs, the first Muslim families in the area of Dživar near Trebinje.
Osman Pasha's mosque in Trebinje was built in 1726 by order of Osman-pasha Resulbegović, the captain of Trebinje. It is located in the Old Town, together with the Emperor's Mosque (1719), the oldest mosque in Trebinje.
